ASQ Central Arkansas Section Earns Top Honors

The Central Arkansas Section of  ASQ—the world’s largest network of quality resources and experts—has earned the 2009-10 Quality Management Process Gold Excellence Award, one of the highest honors a Section can earn in the Society. Only 25 of 251 ASQ Sections and 3 of 22 ASQ Divisions earned this award for the 2009-10 year.

The Central Arkansas Section will be honored at ASQ’s 65th World Conference on Quality and Improvement May 14, 2011 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Members of the ASQ Board of Directors will present the award to the Section.

The Quality Management Process (QMP) Gold Excellence Award is awarded to Sections/Divisions that have proven their commitment and ability to serving local ASQ members and the community. QMP is a management model and planning tool that assists Sections/Divisions in their planning and implementation of programs and services that will meet the needs of current and future ASQ members. The model is based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle of continuous improvement and is proven to aid the Sections/Divisions in delivering superior value to their members.

In order to earn the Gold Excellence Award, Sections/Divisions must meet certain criteria which include creating a business plan and budget. The Section must then achieve ASQ’s objectives in member retention, loyalty and satisfaction.

Meeting Attendance Report

As a service to our members, our Database Chair sends a Meeting Attendance Report to members who are due to recertify. This means that you do not have to keep track of your meeting attendance for RUs. The Meeting Attendance Report can be submitted with your Recertification Journal/Application to claim RUs for section meetings that you have attended since your last certification / recertification.

Members who are due to recertify in June will receive their Attendance Report in May and members who are due to recertify in December will receive their Attendance Report in November. If you find that there is an error on your report please contact John Denney, Database Chair.
