SMP Section Management Process (SMP) is a section management model that has been developed to assist sections in their planning and implementation of services and programs that will meet the needs of current and future members. Click here to see our 2007-2008 SMP. Please send any suggestions for next year's SMP to mail@asq-centralark.org SMP Recognition In the first level, Section Basics, sections demonstrate their viability and commitment to serving ASQ members by meeting the basic requirements for being a section. These basic requirements include:
The second level, Section Planning, requires that all section basics be met as well as the following requirements:
Sections meeting the Section Planning Level are eligible for future recognition in the Section Performance Level (Total Quality and / or Section Excellence Awards). These awards are received one year late, since the results can’t be determined until the year is over. Total Quality requires that the section achieve 75% of the goals set forth in our business plan and submit required documentation to ASQ Headquarters by September 1st. Section Excellence requires that the section meet at least one of the three Society-section measures. These measures are based on the membership retention rate and results of the Member Satisfaction Survey, which is conducted in early winter.
Sections meeting all three are awarded the Gold Excellence Award. Two measures met will earn sections the Silver Excellence Award. Sections meeting one measure will earn the Bronze Excellence Award. Section 1407 SMP Recognition
