Jayant Deshpande, MD, MPH, is currently the Senior Vice President/Chief Quality Officer and Associate Medical Director for Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He assumed this position in October of 2010 and is the first person to hold this position for ACH. Previously, Dr. Deshpande served as Pediatric Anesthesiologist-in-Chief and Executive Physician, Pediatric Quality and Safety at Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and was Vice-Chair for Pediatric Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Deshpande earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Boston University and received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

He earned his master’s of public health from Vanderbilt. Dr. Deshpande completed his pediatric residency at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis and an anesthesia residency and fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Deshpande is also a past president of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia, the largest national organization of pediatric anesthesiologists.
